Never Camping Again!!!

While packing up at the house, I needed to keep Michael occupied so I gave him his backpack and told him to fill it with whatever he wanted to take on the trip. As soon as we arrived, he dumped his backpack, full of cars, on the table and played with them for most of the trip. I think I've blocked the rest of our trip from my mind to save what's left of my sanity. I vaguely remember something about restraining a screaming toddler from trying to dance inches away from the fire pit, and possibly trying to leap over it for approximately an hour. Michael may have run away from our campsite several times, with Rafael following close behind. Michael might have run around with no shoes on, sweeping his feet along the ground to make a point that he didn't need shoes, only to get a gnarly splinter that was "really bothering me". We may have forgotten essential food (ketchup, chocolate) and had to drive to a local store only to have the boys run around the isles (screaming at the top of their lungs of course), then circle around the parking lot. By the time I caught Rafael, who was obviously running for his life, he was feet from HWY 150. It's possible that the only way to get the boys into the tent and into their pjs was for one parent to physically restrain the child while the other put on what you would think, by the intense screaming, kicking, fighting, was flesh eating pjs. And while one child was being horribly abused by being placed in the flesh eating pjs, the other child was wedging himself between the air mattress and tent with the paper towels and sanitizing wipes, which obviously needed to be unrolled and emptied...and the task could only be done with loud screaming. And once the idea of sleeping bags and cots was brought up, it might have sparked a need for our toddlers to face each other and engage in some attempt to overpower their parents with a form of ear piercing, blood curdling toddler screaming that set off all the dogs in the camp ground, and possibly the county. We left by 7:00pm the first and only day. And

Here are some pictures before the madness set in. Oh and Rafael was awake vomiting for 4 hours that night. It's possible he ate something off the ground that didn't agree with him.
