~Michael, Rafael and I were talking about growing up. Michael says he wants to be a geologist when he grows up. Rafael says “when I grow up, I will be joking the whole time”

~The boys have been saving their money to buy a dog. Joey told the kids if they catch the gopher in the backyard eating our flowers he will buy them a dog. Rafael then created this trap seen in this video. Michael never made a trap. He spent some time thinking then came to me and asked how much money a gopher trap would cost. He figured he’d save his money for a gopher trap because it would be cheaper then saving for a dog.

Rafael made a Valentine candle holder with Mopsy. He decided he really wanted to turn it into a wall sconce, or so I presume that’s what this is on my wall:

Rafael loves to eat frozen blueberries. It doesn’t bother him at all they turn his mouth purple.

~In this video Rafael had recently lost his top two teeth. He noticed with the bottom tooth also missing, his missing teeth create the shape of a roller-skate. 

Me: Rafael, can you give me a normal smile just so I can see your missing teeth?

The Avalene Show

This is video of Rafael putting on a puppet show. It’s super cute with puppets he made at Farm School. At some point, there is a disruption in his show but like a true performer, he carries on.

On this day, Michael got a new metal for completing another soccer season. He brought out all his metals for me to see and I thought his keep sale container was too cute, I needed to film it. As you can see, Avalene finds a way to steal his show too.

Rafael Finds The Newspaper

Rafael found the “newspaper” and read it for Michael. Michael became upset and complained to
me. After I explained to Michael it was not a real newspaper and Rafael was making it up, he got the humor. I was then able to capture Rafael’s reading on camera.

Kids Bop Time

Avalene’s new obsession. I cannot get this song out of my head. I hear it at least 5 times a day.

It’s cute watching her dance though. And I love Michael’s video bomb.

Quarantine Fun

I gave the kids access to kids messenger so they can keep in touch with 

friends and family. I was in the kitchen when Rafael called me from the living room.

Never ending forts.

Avalene heard it was nap time.

my first work virtual meeting to find the couch disconnected.

Child Bounces Ball

I know it's  been a year since my last post. I apologize. This one is so worth the wait. Joey is taking a cinematography class. One of the assignments was to make a film and he could chose from several story lines. His story line was a thriller, where a child is bouncing a ball, the ball rolls away, then something unexpected happens. This is his final clip. I am very impressed with Rafael's acting skills! Michael was a great assistant director. Avalene played herself. She was great. 

We Are In A Book

The boys love Mo Willems books so much, they have them memorized.

I caught Rafael trying to "read" this book to Michael, who helped him out. Rafael also just randomly says "ahem, banana" throughout the day. It's quite hilarious.
