It went by so fast! This sweet, charming, cuddly, smart, observant, loving little baby has brought so much joy to our family. How quickly he grew from a tiny little baby who never left my arms to a cheerful tot who brings a smile to my face every time I see or think of him. Now, at two weeks into his 12th month, he walks throughout the house, says "mama", "dada", "daddy", "hi", "bye", "baby", "oh, wow!", "dog", and "hat". He roars like a whispering lion. His favorite food is blueberries and his favorite toy is whatever Michael is playing with. Rafael's favorite activity, besides playing with Mommy and Daddy, or crawl-racing Michael, is bath time. We just have to mention the bath and he high-tails it to the tub, pulls himself up to it and grunts while trying to lift his pudgy leg up to the top. He's nowhere close to getting his leg to the top of the tub but that doesn't stop him from trying every night. Rafael's other favorite activity is what we call "breaking Michael out". When we put Michael down for a nap, or a time-out, we close the bi-fold doors to his room. The doors fold in so it's really easy for Rafael to just push them open. He know's we don't want him to break Michael out so he'll go right to the doors, then stop and look back at us while smiling, waiting for us to chase him. Once we come forward to chase him, he squeals in pure delight. Michael will play with him while on the other side of the doors sometimes. They each bang their side of the door while they both laugh. Never a dull moment.
